Wow, that last journal entry is getting old and still no progress on my part. I have completed the construction of my new two systems, have a part time job now, and I'm also a student. I'm behind in school right now to the point where I just can't wait until this year is over and I still have major projects (independant) to finish.

I have 3 gigs of my photography I'd like to post, but I just don't have the time. I didn't get DSL either, so that sucks. I'm getting Roadrunner just as soon as the cable people put a new line to the house because my old antenna-line cable won't handle it.

They showed up a week ago, but I wasn't home, so I missed them. I left a message; they haven't called back. It's my fault for not calling *them* back -- I've had no time.

I also need to call back a testing service for getting my A+ certification so I can be a technician. The problem is I lost their card (DUH!), and I deleted their number off the caller ID, and I don't remember their name (deep shit). They were originally at my school, so I'll have to talk to someone there to see if they remember who they were -- just a name -- *please*.

I'm also learning C++ and Python. I've made it my goal this summer to become somewhat cohesive in these languages. Knowing and having experience with PHP is helpful for syntax issues, but other than that it's really platform dependant in API's, what calls to do, how to do them, etc. It's really confusing because I try to search for something and you'd think every application was written in Visual Stinking Basic. So many VB sites with so much code, and so little C/C++ sites, especially dealing with Windows programming. Some people should really consider it -- the language rocks and is just as beautiful. I'm really interested in low-level hardware control, like writing my own PCI drivers, and one of my first projects is a TV tuner application using the BT87x tuner series and I2C control bus. But I'm still a long way from there, but having a good project to "teach" you, I've found, is better than learning the raw language. Then again, I've always learned better project-style.

What am I doing up at 3:30 AM? Well, trying to get my life in order. This is kind of like a mental to-do list which will probably end up getting 40% done, 30% forgotten, and 30% put on the next to-do list. It's a vicious cycle, but I love it.
